Its about to rain, I can feel the change in the air as it whips my straight shoulder length hair around my soft pale face. Most can if they pay attention enough; its more common in aged people, they believe they feel the weather changing in there bones or joints. It triggers a memory though, I drift off yet again.
He grabs my arm with his warm and strong hand, I am instantly shot back into reality, like a rocket headed towards space for the first time, as I find myself being pulled along in a battle like scene down the half mile dock occupied by no less than twenty able and willing bodies to ensure I do not pass them at any cost to my target. I begin fight my way through the blockade, it was like trying to walk through ten feet of snow in a blizzard, my eyes fell upon her. My little sister's eyes were shut tight, letting nothing around her be seen to herself. Lexton and Rita, the monsters that had kidnapped her-chased us all around the world, killing everyone and everything near to us- planned to bleed her dry until the world comes to a miserable and unforgettable end.
Not a bad idea if it weren't my sister caught in the crossfire's. My sister, Elie, was something remarkable. She was a key of many kinds; most of which we had no idea of in the first place. I lock on to her helpless person and slay my way two her. I was a bad person, I could kill these people that had done nothing wrong to me except keep me from saving my sister, I could murder them without even looking back. Years ago it would end my life and drive me crazy knowing I had done something so wrong; but time changes people. I can feel the minor wounds on the outside of my skin, they were fixable pains, I was strong and I healed exceptionally fast. Within minutes I was right in front of the two monsters trying to end our world, they were ready for me. I was a burden to them, a road block everyday to them getting what they wanted, her blood. The boy, Lexton, began to pull out his sword as if to engage in battle, glorious and brave he feels himself at. I would have laughed all day long if he were not so serious about his swordsmanship talent. He raised his sword to me to take his slice upon me, I slide under his sword wave, fast; i can feel the wind though my hair as I moved gracefully like a trained assassin, I swivel my legs pushing my upper body to where I am standing right next to him. He didn't see this coming, it took him off guard allowing one of my fellow fighters to shoot him square in the head at the same instant I stabbed my knife through the older Rita's neck right next to him. In his eyes a betrayer, old close friend. His face was hurt as his body hit the ground. I did not have time to look back to whom helped me in this event; I turn and jog towards Elie. She wont open her eyes to see its me, why would she. I promised to protect her and failed. I scream at her, the rain pelting at my face, making my eyes blink drastically.
"Promise Me! Run Straight, No Turns, To Solid Land. Promise You Wont Look Back. Promise!" She continues to sob but nods her head. I have my hands holding in the blood that is dripping from her wounded wrists. She was so little, how anyone could complete such a thing was over my head; I let go of her bleeding wrists and she takes off running with all she has. The only time I can ever get her to listen to me now, I become over run with proud feelings that disappear in an instant. The water below me begins to part- the storm rages on into something inhuman. I can feel his gaze upon me as I turn -he knows- I can feel him as he screams and follows after me, to stop me, but it is to far for him to make it to me, I am to close. I run the rain and the wind against me as if it is his arms pulling me back to keep me here in this world. I leap, its a fantastic feeling, the rush of fear, the pressure of the air against my body falling towards the unknown. Then the pain; unwanted pressure as I am thrown underwater. The electricity from the wilds of inhumanity send pains of one thousand lost souls through me. I would have wished to have been burned alive compared to this. It was over; as I felt nothing.
She did as promised and hit the solid land, crashing to her knees with millions of heavy tears. Crying as no other has every cried before. Time passes and she feels the pavement on her face. She opens her eyes and looks to the dock. The storm has passed but it is not quite sunny yet. Fisherman walk around her racing to catch the storms fish pile-up, there absentminded selfs. She sees a man far down at the edge of the dock, odd that she could even focus this far in the after fog of the rain. Someone yells "Girl"; she is picked up and placed inside a police car and taken away, crying crashes over her as she realizes the scene she just witnessed. It was over and she was alone, her sister was gone; she would not be around to protect her anymore. She had finally lost everyone.
He is standing on the edge of the dock, staring as if looking at an expensive painting in a far away museum. In an instant he turns his head, hearing her heartbeat race, the police have arrived. It was an inconvenient problem that he would deal with later, his interest at the moment lacking for the young girl as he turns his head back to his painting. To him it was a painting to die for, to give his and his company's lives for. This girl who he had been hunting and fighting for many years now seemed to be the most important thing to him. Though she always was, he never thought it would go this far, to this end. Satisfaction grows on his face, he nods to his men in the water, turns and walks away.
